Mumbai Life is a free browser game about one week in the life of an ordinary Mumbaikar. You squeeze onto local trains and BEST buses, bargain at Crawford Market, send money home to your village and try to end Sunday with money left. This guide covers what is in the game. For the basic rules, read How to play. Play Mumbai Life any time.
Home is the chawl and the naka: the kirana shop, Irani cafe, sabzi mandi, society office, gully cricket ground, cyber cafe and the money transfer shop. From there you can travel to Bandra, BKC, Colaba and the Gateway, Fort and CSMT, Dadar and Siddhivinayak, Crawford Market, Andheri, Matunga and Sion, Byculla and Lalbaug, Mahim and Dharavi, and Marine Drive. Each place has its own activities, such as bhel at Chowpatty, darshan at Siddhivinayak, an agent row on Mazgaon Road or a sunset on Marine Drive.
You can take a BEST bus, an auto-rickshaw, a shared taxi, the local train, an AC express bus, a cab app, a water taxi or walk. The local train beats waterlogged roads but suffers signal failures. The bus is cheap and comes with the "Aage do!" fare-passing and "Roko!" stop minigames.
The week changes with the calendar: Ganesh Chaturthi with pandals and visarjan, Navratri garba and dandiya nights, Diwali with its bonus, Holi, the Mount Mary Fair in Bandra, Christmas in Bandra, marathon week, summer heat and the monsoon. A red-alert day shuts the schools and waterlogs the city, and you decide how to spend it.
Besides rupees, you manage energy, hunger, mood, izzat (reputation) and family. You can send money to the gaon, ship a gift parcel, join a bhishi savings circle, take udhaar and fill a fund toward a home of your own.
